A surface ridge in the vicinity of the aloha state will maintain light winds and mostly dry conditions today. A weak front passing from west to east across the smaller islands from late tonight through Wednesday will bring low clouds and a chance of showers. This will be followed by dry northerly flow filling in behind the front. Trade winds will return Thursday and Friday, which will focus low clouds and light trade showers mainly along windward facing terrain. Another surface ridge is forecast to be near the islands this weekend, bringing a return to light and variable winds. Updated: 01/19/2016 3:54 am HST
