Gentle southeast winds will allow sea breezes to prevail across the western part of the state today, while more typical trade wind conditions prevail around Maui county and the Big Island. A surface trough west of Kauai will continue to bring clouds and scattered showers to western parts of the state today. Fresh trade winds are expected to return statewide Tuesday and prevail through the rest of the week, as a ridge builds to the northeast of the islands. Updated: 11/02/2015 3:42 am HST
