Fresh to strong trade winds will persist over the islands through the weekend. Showers will favor the windward and mountain areas, but the trade winds will carry some of the showers leeward at times across the smaller islands. Winds will veer toward the southeast and weaken early next week as a front approaches the islands from the northwest, with a land and sea breeze pattern developing by Tuesday. The front is forecast to stall just west of Kauai by the middle of next week. Updated: 11/13/2015 3:34 am HST
