High pressure building north of the islands will bring a surge in trade winds, as well as increasing clouds and showers, through Monday. While most of the showers will favor windward areas, the strengthening trade winds will push showers to leeward portions of the smaller islands. The increased winds and showers will affect Kauai and Oahu today, spreading to Maui county and the Big Island tonight and Monday. The increased moisture will move south of all islands by Tuesday, with moderate trade winds delivering just a few brief windward showers for the remainder of the upcoming week.
